Elke Michalik was born in Bochum. After completing school, she completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer and advertising designer and later worked in this profession at Rhein Ruhr Film (film and video production).
Elke Michalik later studied sociology and education at the University of Hamburg and psychoenergetics and group dynamics in Bochum at the Ruhr University with Prof. Dr. Dr. Walter drizzle.
This was followed by occupation with the fine arts and the possibilities of photography, which resulted in the opening of a photo studio (nude, beauty, portrait). Today Elke Michalik works as a freelancer and finds her motifs on her various travels, including several times to Bali, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Morocco or Turkey, but also in Italy.
The photographer's works have been published by Tushita-Verlag, by “independent” Medien-Design Munich for Gräfe and Unzer Verlag or by MERIDIAN Internationale Kultur- und Seminarreisen GmbH, and have been purchased by various private customers.

Elke Michalik was born in the German city of Bochum. On leaving school, she trained as a graphic artist and advertising designer and worked for Rhein Ruhr Film, producing films and videos.
Later Elke Michalik studied sociology and pedagogy at the University of Hamburg, then she continued her studies in psycho-energetics and group dynamics with Professor Walter Niesel at the University of Bochum.
Switching her focus to the visual arts - particularly photography - she went on to set up her own photographic studio, specialising in nudes, portraits and beauty photography. Elke Michalik now works freelance. Her photography draws inspiration from her travels: she has made many journeys to Bali, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Morocco, Turkey and Italy, among other destinations.
Works of the photographer has been published by the Tushita Verlag, by independent Medien-Design in Munich for the Gräfe und Unzer Verlag, and by MERIDIAN Internationale Kultur- und Seminarreisen GmbH. Elke Michalik also sells to a range of private clients.
